Yesterday in Athens, took place the premiere of Christine Crokos’ movie Το Γαμήλιο Πάρτι (Wedding Party) a movie that I really wanted to see, because fisrt of all of its trailer, it seemed interesting and promising. And if people outside Greece consider that a movie preview trailer is always better than the movie, you really have to watch some older trailers of Greek movies, that really did no favor to the movie they represented.
A part from that the two leads were really really cute and hot. Fei Ksyla is one of the best of a new generation of actresses, that really has managed top stand out, in theater, movie sand television. She is beautiful and talented and has proven herself, managing to shine even when she was not the lead. Alex Dimitriades if you check out my Head On review in the past, is hot and its been one of my first crushes. And in this movie he is more beautiful than ever. He is just there to turn you on in every scene he appears. If only he appeared naked, my dreams would have been haunted by his presence.
Alex is Elias, Fei is Marina and they are getting married. The only problem the invitation is misprinted and the invited people are lost in the island of Crete. During their effort to find out where the ceremony is held a series of events will test everyone. A perfect concept, a different kind of road movie, a variety of characters to explore.
And then the movie started, and it went on and on and on… For 90 minutes time seemed to have stop, eternity must feel like this. No humor, bad timing, silly screenplay. The funny lines were not that funny, you got the feeling that every line the writers consider to be funny, never reached the audience. No matter what the cast was trying to do could not work, all of them seemed lost in a series of crazy events, that never reached their target. Later I learned that the whole thing has been changed dramatically by the producers who were too anxious for a success. I just didn’t get the story, that insisted on concentrating on anyone else but its two charming main characters.
The party afterwards was nice. Alex is hot in person, allthough hotter in the the movie. Fei was friendly and beautiful. Everyone was having fun. It’s a pitty we didn’t have as much fun watching the film.
