Sound Of music

…with the Sound of Music. Robert Wise’s movie has been called silly, boring (it’s long but still you can enjoy it), fell into every musical cliche and people like so much to hate it, because of its oscars wins. Still though The Sound of Music is such a joy to watch only for Julie Andrews’ wonderful voice and some of the best tunes the musical genre ever produced.

It is a part of my childhood, and the song I loved them so much. But their charm begun to fade slowly, still they lasted for half a century and people were searching for a way to revive the happiness they bring…
All these years scientist have been looking for a way to revive the charm of the movie, to make newer generation grow up, like Selma in Lars Von Trier’s Dancer in the Dark, turned turned to the song My favourite Things in order to go through her burdens and doomed fate, in one of the most tragic anddrmaticaly strong moments of the movie…

Bjork – My Favourite Things

People tried to keep aive the hills with songs like Do Re Mi which was an international hit made even in spanish…

or The Lonely Goater who still looks for his lovely one…

Moulin Rouge also did so…

But still musicals usually are treated as a stupid genre, because people never burst into dancing and singing in their life.

People are crazy, I always feel like that everytime I go out with my i-pod…

And then all of a sudden Belgium discovers the lost song of the musical. There in the mystical land of Flandres there was this song well hidden that will give life to the hills, that will bring joy to the world, that will make us smile…

Unforynatelly the song was ony found in an unknown language, so in order to make sure that it will have an international carreer the Belgian people decided to send at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008

Ishtar – O julisi na jalini

Don’t put the blame on me if I vote for it though, I have the feeling that the magic of The Sound Of music has already touched my soul, and I just discovered this year favourite. And the presantation is really into the spirit…
