There are some movies that you saw back then and you never actually think of them again, but still there is a powrful element that stays in your mind. I accidentally watched Percy Adlon’s Bagdad Cafe 15 years ago maybe, at an age I could not actually apreciate a film about a small city in the forgotten US wasteland. Still there was this song that I stuck in my mind, that I didn’t know what was it…
Jevetta Steele – Calling You
Then there comes a cover of the song by Celine Dion, and if you do the research in youtube or google probably everyone has sung it (men, women, americans, british, french, canadians). In my research I realised that it was an Oscar Nominated song in 1989 and the movie it belonged. I watched the movie just to have this childhood deja-vu, and to tell you the truth I think that was the best part of the film. Not that the film is awful or boring, it’s just that the song had prepared me for so much stronger feelings, cause it sends shivers everytime I hear it. Unfortunately the film first 30 minutes are really hard to watch and you need to overcome this obstacle in order to let it reveal its charm. And then you find this in youtube. It is from So you think you can dance (not the greek version0 and the dancers are Heidi and Travis from season 2, presenting a contemporary dance act, choreographed by Mia Michaels (as I learn from the data presented). And then I think…
What’s the problem in greece, because no matter how high are the standats in the local version of the same show, I haven’t seen anything as powerful. We really lack of choreographers. Plus the song just got the perfect video, and they also dance to Celine’s version. Plus I would have voted for Heidi and Travis to be the winners

A very good performance indeed! I wish we could have more performances like these in our show…
